My Favorite Book
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (전지적 독자 시점)
Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, or ORV, is a apocalyptic story written by a couple sing N song. It’s about a normal guy named Kim Dokja who has been reading a webnovel called Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World for over 10 years. Even though the story was long, he was the only reader who stayed until the very last chapter. And one day, the novel suddenly becomes reality, and the world turns into a world of monsters and deadly phenomenes. Kim Dokja is the only one who finished the book, he is the only person who knows exactly what is going to happen next. I really love this novel because every character are unique and feels real, like they have their own souls. The story is always unpredictable and captivating. My favorite character is the protagonist because he is just like us. He isn't the strongest person and he doesn't have cheat powers at the start, but he is very intelligent. He uses his brain and everything he learned from reading to survive and save his friends. It’s inspiring to see a protagonist who wins because he thinks and plans instead of just being the most powerful.
My Favorite Film
Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle (劇場版ハイキュー!!)
Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle is a movie I really loved, I have been following this anime since I was a kid. Haikyu!! is a "shonen" sports about the Karasuno High school volleyball team. They were once called the "wingless crows" because they lost their former glory, and the story follows their obstacle to become champions again. This movie finally shows the legendary match against their long-time rivals, Nekoma High school. It is called the "Dumpster Battle" because "Nekoma" means cats and "Karasuno" means crows (cats fight crows in the street). What makes this film incredible is because of a huge nostalgia and the main theme song "orange". My two favorites characters are Tsukishima and Kuroo. Their relationship is particular because Kuroo acted like a mentor to Tsukishima during their training camps. Watching them face off in an official match is captivating: Tsukishima has turned into a very strategic player who uses his knowledge to block, while Kuroo remains the cool leader who analyzes everything. Even if you are not an expert on sports, the movie is easy to follow. It is a battle of styles between pure attack and defense, almost like a strategy game. It’s very emotional to see these characters grow up and show so much respect for each other. For me, it is the perfect conclusion to a story I have loved since I was young.
